Work Available

  • Harvesting lettuce (May- November) involving cutting, bagging and grading lettuce and weeding.
  • Harvesting spring onions (April- November) which involves pulling onions by hand, trimming and packing in crates.
  • Warehouse (May-November) which is shift work involving inloading produce, storing, picking and outloading onto lorries.

We also often have other roles available such as Supervisors, Tractor Drivers and Minibus Drivers.

Accomodation

Accomodation is provided with seasonal work and is spread over several sites. A variety of accomodation is available including mobile homes and purpose built hostels. All include single beds with mattresses, pillows, wardrobes and chests of drawers. Kitchen facilities include cookers, fridges, freezers, kettles, cooking pots, cutlery, crockery and tables and chairs. Sites have washing machines and facilities for drying clothes. All workers must provide and cook their own food, and keep their living areas clean and tidy. Vacuum cleaners are available for use. Transport  to and from work and to the supermarkets for food shopping is also provided.

Rate of Pay

Pay rates vary on the job undertaken. However for the majority of workers employed in harvesting we operate a piece work system. This means there is the opportunity to work harder and earn more money. When initially starting employment and whilst training it is more likely that hourly pay will be received. Tax is always paid on earnings, however for those who stay until the end of the season we provide assistance with claiming tax back.
