Experienced Tractor Driver - 1 x Gravesend (Kent) 1x Chichester(West Sussex)
We are currently looking to recruit an experienced tractor driver who will have responsibility for groundwork operations which will include drilling, ploughing, sub-soiling, bed forming and hoeing. Duties will also include general machinery maintenance and fabricating.
It is essential that you:
• Are experienced in carrying out groundwork operations
• Have practical mechanical skills
• Are flexible and adaptable
• Are able to work independently using own initiative
• Have good communication skills
• Have a valid driving licence
It is desirable that you:
• Have PA1, 2 and 4 qualifications
• Have a telehandler licence
The position is offered on a permanent contract and the salary is dependent on experience.
Trainee Agronomist - Chichester (West Sussex)
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and self motivated Trainee Agronomist to join us on a permanent contract.
The purpose of the job role is to effectively support the production teams in product development and improvements in growing. The main duties of the role will include:
• Planning and carrying out trials to develop and improve varieties of field crops
• Crop walking
• Producing integrated crop management reports as required
• Examining the results of studies to discover and enhance crop characteristics such as yield, quality and resistance to diseases and pests
• Studying crop production to discover the best methods of planting, cultivating and harvesting crops
• Participating in local and national agronomy meetings, presenting research findings and identifying new trends and areas for collaboration
The successful candidate will have/be:
• Educated to degree level in biology, crop production or a related subject
• Have excellent communication skills and be confident in dealing with all levels of managers and staff
• Good organisational skills with the ability to plan and prioritise work
• Able to work efficiently and accurately with a good eye for detail
• Have good numerical and IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (Outlook,
Word, Excel)
• Be flexible and able to adapt themselves and the business to rapidly changing circumstances
It is desirable that you have:
• BASIS and FACTS qualifications, although training can be given
