Our Environmental
policy
Langmead Farms is very keen on promoting
the wildlife on its farms. Each year 400m of hedgerow
is planted. 9,200m of beetle banks/beneficial
beds have been created in order to provide 'wildlife
corridors' to encourage 'natural' pest control.
With the introduction of Farm & Wildlife Advisory
Group activities at Selsey the numbers of Barn
Owls and Water Voles (see top right) have greatly
increased and Oyster Catchers have returned to
lay eggs in the fields (see bottom right).
To keep people informed of the ever-changing flora
and fauna in and around Langmead Farms, we have
a keen conservationist who will keep us updated
with regular three monthly reports, as well as
up to the minute reports of any rare species that
have been spotted in the area.
